Photo Courtesy of Nature.com Some terms I seem to hear more often from man-made global warming alarmists these days are that man is "very likely" causing global warming, and that it may be at a "tipping point".  Both phrases indicate a sense of desperation.  Maybe the whole idea of man-made global warming itself is very likely at a tipping point.

One of the grossest distortions in American history is the claim that Herbert Hoover was a much different kind of president than Franklin D Roosevelt. He wasn't. In reality, FDR picked up his interventionist government policies right where Hoover left off--with the same sorry results.

A hoax is defined as "something intended to deceive or defraud". A pandemic is something that is "prevalent throughout an entire country, continent, or the whole world; epidemic over a large area". Pharmaceutical companies made enormous amounts of money by getting the World Health Organization to declare H1N1 a pandemic when it wasn't. That sounds like a hoax to me.

As speeches go, it was one of the best. As cheerleading and bully pulpiting go, it was magnificent. But I still hate State of the Union addresses. Obama was as subtly partisan as they come while blaming George W. Bush for all of our debt problems of the last decade or so, and his claim that we need to be more bipartisan was clearly aimed at Republicans.  And he lied about not having any lobbyists on his payroll.

After our government gave billions of dollars to a handful of large corporations that had committed perhaps the greatest economic fraud ever on the American people, are you surprised that our Supreme Court gave them unmitigated power over our election process?  Do you think the Supreme Court's decision will make any difference, since corporations effectively control our lives anyway?

It is clear that Robert Bennett no longer deserves to be a United States Senator from Utah.  The only choice left is which of his four Republican challengers should replace him.  When Mike Lee recently announced his candidacy for the position, I threw my initial support behind him.  After last night's Independence Caucus-sponsored debate, I am even more convinced that I made the correct choice.
