Why Utah Mormons Fell for George W. Bush

Hopefully most Utahns who voted for George W. Bush in 2004 realize by now that they made a cataclysmic mistake. Whether they do or not, they probably still don't know how the charlatan pied piper of Midland wooed them with his siren song. My opinion? He got them where they are most vulnerable--God, patriotism, and compassion. I recognized George H. W. Bush for the establishment wonk that he was, and I didn't vote for him in 1988. Rotten fruit doesn't fall far from the tree, so I wasn't even tempted to support his dashing son, George W. Bush. It is surprising, if only in retrospect, that so many Utahns supported this charlatan for president. But, having the presence of hindsight to guide my analysis, I think I know why. There are three reasons. God. The Book of Mormon, considered by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to be additional scripture, is replete with wars between the usually pagan group called Lamanites and the usually god-feari...

Ron Paul and Bill Moyers Hold An Interview that The Establishment Doesn't Want You To Hear

Are the establishmentarians and their sycophants as frustrated with Bill Moyers as they are with Ron Paul? They must be, because Bill Moyers was the consummate professional when it came to his interview with Congressman Paul on PBS last night. Sean Hannity is a dolt who is nice to people (such as recently to Ron Paul) that he doesn't like only when it is to the advantage of himself or the shitpot network that he works for. Tim Russert didn't do too bad of a job interviewing Ron Paul on Meet the Press recently, but Bill Moyers is a cut above the rest. Moyers interviewed Ron Paul about his Presidential candidacy on PBS last night . He asked him tough questions, but he let him speak. It's clear that Paul and Moyers disagree on at least some issues, but never once would you have known it from the consummate journalist or the consummate statesman. Neither once did Paul emit the hatred that his detractors constantly claim that he and his supporters exude. Paul, not limited t...

Of Course Democrats Support Ron Paul

There are intelligent people in both major political parties, as well as in the smaller ones. Intelligent people are more apt to support Ron Paul. Therefore, not only are there Republicans who support Ron Paul, so are there Democrats. And for the very same reasons. Because we are all sick to the puking point of the "Fail-America-First" foreign policy of our self-serving Establishment. The bloody-murder screamers in the knee-jerk wing of the Republican party claim that Ron Paul is going after the Democrats. As though that is somehow bad. Oh that's right...it was bad when Ronald Reagan did it...I forgot. Actually, though, the knee-jerkers have it backwards . The Democrats are going after Ron Paul, because they like what he has to say. What Ron Paul espouses should be the fundament of all political parties in the United States (as it was upwards of 100 years ago), but somehow it no longer is. That "somehow" is the Establishment creeping in a hijacking both...

God Tells Pat Robertson Who The Next President Will Be

"Secret, secret, I have a secret!" Dateline Virginia: It was revealed to televangelist Pat Robertson yesterday, by God no less, who the next president of the United States will be. But he's not telling anyone, because he's sure that people will make fun of him. Well, it's too late. We're making fun of you already, Mr. Twister. I wonder if God revealed to "President" Robertson who was going to win the presidential election in 1988, when Pat Robertson ran for president ? Oh, he lost? Pat Robertson has already put his money this time around on Rudi Giuliani. Does the revelation match the backing? Pat's not telling. I guess we'll have to wait and find out. My breath is so baited, I can't stand it . "He told me some things about the election, but I'm not going to say, because some old man on "60 Minutes" would make fun of me, so I'm not going to tell you who the winner's going to be..." The ratings for ...

Ron Paul Criticizes Bush's War Policy
Or Was That Clinton's?

Ten years ago, Ron Paul criticized Bill Clinton's policy for war in the Balkans. You'd swear he'd just been criticizing George W. Bush. It is uncanny how similar the motives are behind the Bosnian War and the Iraq War. A critique of our quest for oil hegemony? It's in there. Allies running away from us? Yup! How about "If you don't support the war, you don't support the troops." It's all been said before--ten years ago during the Clinton Administration. So, put on your seat belt, and prepare for a topsy turvy ride of deja vu. The Establishment of Mao Tse-Tung's China was a master at propaganda. But he has NOTHING on the US Establishment, which now has the sights of its big guns trained on the ONE candidate that is not in some way beholden to the American Establishment--Ron Paul. Recently he has emerged as a formidable candidate. The American kingmen can no longer ignore him, and they don't dare talk about his clearly sound and attra...

Ron Paul is Right: US to Blame for Bhutto Assassination

Benazir Bhutto, despite how you feel about her politics, was a brave woman who did not deserve to die. The current atmosphere of hatred and distrust in Pakistan has been generated largely by the world's only superpower, the United States of America, who thinks that it can get its fingers in everyone else's pie any time it damn well pleases. The result? The assassination of a great woman, and a country in turmoil. Update 12/30/2007 : On-scene reporter: Pakistanis are partially blaming US for the death. Following the assassination of Benazir Bhutto in Pakistan, the United States was again unnecessarily scrambling : On Thursday, officials at the American Embassy in Islamabad reached out to members of the political party of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, according to a senior administration official. The very fact that officials are even talking to backers of Sharif, a man those officials have long mistrusted and whose return to Pakistan they discouraged because they beli...

How the Federal Government Screwed Up Broadband Internet

Did you ever wonder why your American internet connection sucks? You can thank the federal government. Today most of us only know that the Federal Communications Commission regulates the airwaves as a public property. But it wasn't always that way. At one point telecommunications were regulated on a much more efficient basis. But then big business and their partner in crime, the federal government, decided that things had to be done differently, ostensibly for the benefit of all. And now, American telecommunications is screwed up beyond belief. This is why countries like South Korea kick our butt in broadband speeds. Two years ago, the US had already dropped to 16th among the nations of the world in internet access speed. Why is this so? Because these so-called socialist nations are much less socialist than we are --in many ways, including--in telecommunications. These nations all have something the U.S. lacks: a national broadband policy, one that actively encourages comp...
